Clearview Screens are devices that repel water droplets that adhere to the surface of a ship's front windshield (mainly the window in front of the cockpit) to ensure visibility for the crew. On ships, large amounts of water can splash onto the window, and a reciprocating wiper cannot handle that amount of water, but a Clearview Screen can ensure continuous visibility, making it particularly popular. Another advantage is that it is less likely to leave behind salt residue that turns white when it dries and impairs visibility (wipers require a large amount of fresh water for the windshield washer). It is a very reliable product for foul weather.
